The Blades will try to sign him whether they go up or not while Preston North End are also keen on him.
Bazunu has started 44 games for Pompey in all competitions this season, as well as cementing his place as Ireland’s No 1.
Earlier this month, Portsmouth boss Danny Cowley said the young Man City stopper is an “exceptional” talent and is heading to the top.
He told Hampshire Live: “I have spoken about him many times and I normally don’t speak about the young ones because I don’t like them to get ahead of themselves, but he has got such an unbelievable mind-set that it doesn’t matter that I speak well of him because he will always want better.

“He’s a student of the game, he’s so bright for some so young and I don’t know whether to say the world at his feet or his hands.
“He is top, brilliant, I love him. I’m going to miss that kid, I’m going to really, really miss him, every single day.”
City’s other young keeper, James Trafford, could also be on the move — in a dream loan to Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht.
Trafford, 19, has been playing for Bolton this season and was previously with Accrington but he is being mentioned for a major step-up in Belgium.
