Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made a bid to purchase Chelsea, two weeks after the deadline for affords. His transfer got here as Steve Pagliuca was instructed his consortium had been eradicated from the operating.

Ratcliffe, the proprietor of the British petrochemicals firm Ineos, told the Times: “We put an offer in this morning. We are the only British bid. Our motives are simply to try and create a very fine club in London. We have no profit motive because we make our money in other ways.”
